Using Botox for Facial Wrinkles
Here are a few types of facial wrinkles that Botox can treat.

Until we chance upon the fountain of youth, aging is unfortunately an inevitable part of life, and with aging comes a number of things we don’t want, for example wrinkles.

While there’s nothing wrong with having a few wrinkles here and there, they get progressively worse with age.

When we start aging, the muscle tone of the facial muscles starts increasing and the skin’s collagen production starts decreasing. This results in the skin gradually getting less supple and losing its luster—ultimately resulting in wrinkles.

But gone are the days when we had to rely on expensive night creams and moisturizers to maintain a youthful glow. Thanks to Botox, you can now say bye-bye to wrinkles!

Using Botox for Facial Wrinkles

With the advancement in the beauty industry, having to undergo expensive and invasive surgery for a better-looking skin is no longer compulsory. There are now a number of non-invasive treatments such as Botox that can help you maintain a wrinkle-free skin.

The botulinum toxin injection works best on dynamic wrinkles—wrinkles that happen as a result of the continuous formation of facial expressions, such as a smile or a frown. Static wrinkles, or wrinkles that form even when the face is relaxed, can be treated with a mixture of Botox and dermal fillers.

Here are a few types of facial wrinkles that Botox can treat.

Glabellar Lines

Glabellar lines are the most common cosmetically treated wrinkles with botulinum toxin. The patch of skin situated between the eyebrows and right above the nose is known as the glabella. Frequent frowning can result in the formation of frown lines in this area.

Crow’s Feet

Also known as lateral canthal lines or periorbital lines, crow’s feet are wrinkles that form at the outer corner of the eyes. Resembling crow’s feet, these lines usually branch out in three. They are also called as smile lines because they can happen as a result of smiling too much, or even because of squinting your eyes too often.

Forehead Wrinkles

Another common facial wrinkle: lines on the forehead. Typically a result of frowning, forehead wrinkles form on the large frontalis muscle. When you contract the frontalis muscles, the forehead gets raised and lines appear.

Lipstick Lines

Lipstick or perioral lines are straight lines situated right above the upper lip. They usually form as a result of age, hereditary factors, and more. Factors such as smoking and puckering also come into play.

Marionette Lines

Bringing to mind the mouth section of a marionette puppet’s face, marionette lines usually run from the corner of the mouth downwards, all the way to the chin. These lines get progressively worse with age but are easily treatable with Botox.
